Popular culture

Popular culture plays a big role in everyday life. There is no one person on the face of the earth that has not been effected by popular culture. Its just a way of life that people live by. Yes, I can say that in a way that it has shaped my circle of friends. When you are a young child you play at the park or playground with all different kinds of children from different races. You don't care about the color of their skin or what kind of close they have on. Once you become older you start to view things in different way. Your culture has pently to do with the way you live your life. You start to watch more and more TV as you grow older. TV plays a big role in popular culture because of the media. Your culture determines what kind of music you listen to what friends to choose and so forth. For example growing up as and african american child and knowing that we were once slaves to whites you would think I would dislike them and wouldn't want to make friends with them. People tend to let the media influence the way they go about living their life and the media is not always 100% right in the things they say or show. Once a person has their mind set that what their culture believe in is right its hard to change their way of life. Yes, popular culture plays a major role in everyones life.

you made an excellent point on the fact that when your a young child you don't view people as different and everyones the same.

ill agree with max nadz. Also with the TV. People watch hours of tv everyday, of course its going to effect the way they act and live. Pop culture is everywhere.

Your blog was very straight to the point and honest. I enjoyed reading it and think that the points you brought up in it are prominent in everyday life.

I agree with you when you talk about being young and not caring! It is so true that as we grow we see more and let those things shape who we are. I believe that TV has a huge influence on what the large percentage of society does.

I feel what your saying Antonio. Being young was so easy; we didn't have any prejudices set in our minds yet. Like you said, t.v. does play a big role in our culture. It almost sets a guideline on how to be..its sick

There's a great deal of analysis in your post, Antonio. Very perceptive observations and insights. You are right that children are not born prejudice, they are taught to be so. Children react to their environment, which, you are right, is directly influenced by their culture, which often is influenced by the media. Good post!
