MM Reflection

Just like I had fun with the hypertext assignment I had more fun with the Multi M. With this sign I knew what I was doin and I had time to think about what I wanted to do. My topic for this assingment was "how does the media shape our perception of athletes"? This was not only a interesting topic to others but also to me because I'm an athlete myself. I got plenty of different opinions while doing my research, I also learn alot aswell. The audiance for this would be anyone who felt that the media does shape our perception of athletes. There was plenty of information on this topic but I could not use it all. I feel I did a wonderful job with my organization and design with this assignment because I knew what I was doin thanks to the Hypertext Essay.

Hypertext Reflection

I have fun with the hypertext assingment it was something new to me. This assingnment showed me a form of writing that I had never used before. The topic I used for this was Drugs to build up that mental muscle. I think this was an interesting topic for everyone to learn more about. I think this was a good topic because people besides athletes do use drugs to help them perform better. Some people feel that there is nothing wrong with it and others feel that it is wrong and I'm one of those people. Think my organization was good but my design could have be better than what it was. I felt I did a pretty good job on getting my research together and displaying it to my audiance.

Claim

athletes, Movie stars and, Entertainer should not be view as role models because of the way they are shown in the media.

Proposal for semester topic

The topic I chose to do is How has technology shaped our perception of concepts like "Athletes"? I chose this topic because I'm an athlete. I think this is an interesting topic, many people will relate and understand the things I'm going to discuss. Technology plays a big role in our perception of pro athletes. They we see them through technology effects they way we feel about and view these athletes.

Technology

Technology is a very uniqe thing. Without technology we as humans maybe lost. Technology is not only for entertainment but its also something we depend on. Think about what you would do without it. Most people can not function for 20 minutes without it, so just imagine not having it at all. Technology is a must for me without I could not make it through the day. One reason is because I would not be able to wake up in thw mourning without some kind of alarm most young people can't. Also we need clocks to tell time who doesn't need to know what time it is. Now a days just about everything is digital. If you can name to of your friends that don't own a cell phone your are amazing. Everyone I know has a cell phone I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my cell phone it just hurts me to think about such a thing. My cell phone is very important to me. My cell phone has gotten me out of plenty of jams. Think about being on a dark road and your car breaks down and you have no cell phone sounds pretty bad huh. Without technology I wouldn't have my credit card and thats something I use all the time. Technology is not just something we want it's something we need.

Cyberculture

Cyberculture is a very unique thing. Cyberculture has changed the way we as people communiticate. We don't even have to meet a person face to face to know everything about them or to find out what kind of person they are, you don't even have to say one word from your mouth. I have been dealing with cyberculture for quite sometime now. Once I figured out how to use Yahoo I've been apart of cyberculture since then. Ever since then cyberculture is a way of life for me now. I have a facebook a myspace and now a have a blog page. Sites like that allow me to keep in touch with childhood friends who have moved away and it also enables me to meet new people as well. I also use cyberculture for class work also. Even though it seems to be all good cyberculture has a negative side as well. Some people use it was a way to meet young children and take advantage of them. Cyberculture can allow people to look you up and stalk you and such things like that. As you can see cyberculture is one of those things we embrace and you just have to take the good with the bad.

Popular culture

Popular culture plays a big role in everyday life. There is no one person on the face of the earth that has not been effected by popular culture. Its just a way of life that people live by. Yes, I can say that in a way that it has shaped my circle of friends. When you are a young child you play at the park or playground with all different kinds of children from different races. You don't care about the color of their skin or what kind of close they have on. Once you become older you start to view things in different way. Your culture has pently to do with the way you live your life. You start to watch more and more TV as you grow older. TV plays a big role in popular culture because of the media. Your culture determines what kind of music you listen to what friends to choose and so forth. For example growing up as and african american child and knowing that we were once slaves to whites you would think I would dislike them and wouldn't want to make friends with them. People tend to let the media influence the way they go about living their life and the media is not always 100% right in the things they say or show. Once a person has their mind set that what their culture believe in is right its hard to change their way of life. Yes, popular culture plays a major role in everyones life.
